Wines Of The Quarter

Champagne | France
-40% Pinot Noir
-40% Chardonnay
-20% Pinot Menunier

Aromas of citrus fruit (lemon) and fresh, zesty notes combined with soft tones of grilled hazelnuts and heady acacia flowers. After aeration, the wine develops hints of fresh wood, subtle spices (pepper, cardamom), cocoa beans, and honey nougat which add depth. The palate is simultaneously smooth, rounded and fresh. The attack is juicy, direct, concentrated and pure, yet exceptionally soft and gives way to a saline freshness endowing it with remarkable mineral precision and discreet elegance.

Burgundy | France
- Chardonnay

Beautiful white gold hue with delicate pale green glimmers. A seductive with classic Chablis nose offering vine peach, banana, citrus fruits and brioche. The palate is well balance, rich, fresh and elegant. The smooth, rich structure lingers on the end palate. Ripe fruits combine harmoniously with mineral notes to give a soft mouthfeel.

Margaret River | Australia
- Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc

The wine is 100% from Wilyabrup sub-region. The Semillon and Sauvignon  lanc are sourced solely from our home block on Caves Road. The wine has a beautiful combination of pear and passion fruit on the nose. The palate is clean and crisp with lime, citrus and melon. Complexity has been added from wild fermentation giving subtle flinty characters.

Bordeaux | France
- Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot

The wine shows the beautiful dark red colour. The nose is reserved, but already has good depth and complexity. The wood is well integrated under the characteristic notes of fresh red fruit, dominated by blackcurrants. On the palate, the attack is robust and dense, with the wine developing lots of volume. The fruit maintains a good presence. The overall impression is already very well balanced. The wine confirms its elegant, fresh style. The tannins, although still young, are silky.

Frankland River | Australia
- Shiraz

This wine is made with fruit from the Frankland River Region of Western Australia, which produces wine with great richness of flavour. A lovely perfumed bouquet of blackberry and spicy cherry. The palate is luscious with mulberry, plum and hints of black pepper, supported by soft subtle tannins. Aged in French oak for twelve moths, this wine will benefit from cellaring.
